Terms and Conditions

Kolkata IX is a Community Internet Exchange facilitating the Members, who shall be ISPs, TSPs, Content, Application, DNS, TLD Operators/Network Operators and such Service Providers, who may require IXP facilities, to interconnect with each other for efficient routing of IP traffic and overall improve the functioning of Internet in the region. The organizational home for Kolkata IX is India Internet Foundation and the members using the Kolkata IX will be the peering members of Kolkata IX and community members of India Internet Foundation.

All decisions for adding new peering members & peering members conduct based on the Peering policy procedures and adherence to terms and conditions rests with Kolkata IX Committee and the decision of the committee is deemed final.

The Peering Member agrees fully to indemnify and hold harmless the Kolkata IX and its partners against any costs, liabilities and damages which may be incurred by virtue of its association with Kolkata IX.

The Community Member also agrees to comply with all Kolkata IX policy & terms and conditions in force from time to time.

The Community Member agrees to comply with instructions or directions from the Kolkata IX Committee of the Peering and interconnection working group and non-adherence to guidelines will lead to termination of membership on immediate basis.

Peering members of Kolkata IX will be registered as Community Members of IIFON but Community Members are not formal Trustees or Advisors of the IIFON and as such have no voting rights.

The members based on their willingness will be allowed to be part of various technology committees of IIFON and will be invited for contribution and discussion of technical issues.

Regular Updates by Kolkata IX to its peering members on the regulations and notifications provided by TRAI & DOT, GOI.

The IIFON Community Members are eligible to receive exclusive discount for all workshops and seminars being conducted by IIFON.
